Brewster Welcomes Holiday Season With Christmas Tree Lighting, Caroling BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Brewster residents young and old will have a chance to get in the holiday spirit when the village presents its annual tree lighting and caroling beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. The event will include the lighting of the village's Christmas tree, a visit from Santa, caroling, free hot cider and cookies and entertainment. Ramapo Police Search For Woman Wanted Since 2012 RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police are on the search for a local woman who is wanted for charges dating back to 2012, according to the Ramapo Police Department. Michelle Jackson is wanted for criminal possession of stolen property from an incident in Chestnut Ridge in 2012, police said. Jackson is 5-feet-3-inches, and at the time of her arrest weighed 170 pounds.  Anyone with information regarding Jackson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Town of Ramapo Police at 845-357-2400.

Tyrell R. Barker, 23, of Highland and Brooklyn, was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 15, and again on Wednesday, according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police. Barker's arrest is the result of an investigation which focused on fictitious payroll checks being deposited or attempting to be deposited into accounts at a local bank, police said.
