WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Westport woman involved in a one-car accident on Wednesday tested at more than three times the legal limit for blood alcohol content.Stefanie Wiedman, 35, of Garden Lane, was charged with DWI and interfering with a police officer after the accident on Green Farms Road, police said. Spring Valley Landlord Fined After Tenant Collapses From Carbon Monoxide
SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- A Spring Valley landlord has been fined $8,000 for violations at the home after a tenant collapsed from carbon monoxide poisoning, according to lohud.com. Mattis Fried of The Rashby Trust, was fined by the Rockland Board of Health on Wednesday for four violations at 10 Jay St. Each of the violations carry $2,000 fines for problems that included the lack of a functional carbon monoxide detector, said lohud.com. Second Arrest Made In Theft Of Credit Cards From Elderly Newtown Woman
NEWTOWN, Conn. — A man wanted in connection with the theft of a credit card from an elderly Newtown resident by her caregiver has been nabbed by the Newtown police nine months after the crime in New Haven. An arrest warrant was issued for Michael Tallman, 29, of Waterbury, in November 2015, after he was found to be involved in the theft and use of the credit by his ex-girlfriend Earlisha Watson, who was a caregiver for the woman, police said. Bridgeport Homicide Victim Hoped To Find Missing Father
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 37-year-old Bridgeport man who was shot and killed on Tuesday as he sat in a car with a friend had been on a mission to find his father who has been missing since May, according to the Connecticut Post. Fredrick Richardson Jr. was sitting in the front passenger seat when he was shot along with the driver, who was wounded but drove to Bridgeport Hospital. Richardson died and the driver suffered a non-life-threatening injury, according to the Connecticut Post. Norwalk Police Issue 242 Tickets For Texting, Cell Phone Use
NORWALK, Conn. -- Texting and cell phone use has become such a problem with drivers that the Norwalk Police Department recently performed a two week distracted driver detail in an effort to curb the practice.During the detail, which was held from Aug. 1 to Aug. 14, the department held 11 enforcement details where they handed out 242 tickets to drivers who were either texting on talking on their cell phones. Yorktown Police Charge Man, 27, With Failure To Appear
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Mount Kisco man was charged with failure to appear on Thursday in connection with a past arrest after failing to show up in court in July. Joshua T. Holmes, 27, was arrested on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court for an earlier arrest in which he was charged with possession of marijuana and driving without a license by Yorktown police. Holmes appeared in court on Thursday and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Sept. 29.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Millerton man was charged with two counts of criminal contempt on Wednesday for violating a protection order two times on the same day. James C.
