Expect Traffic Delays Following Accident At Routes 59/Route 306 In Monsey
MONSEY, N.Y. -- Commuters experienced delays Tuesday morning at the corner of routes 59 and 306 in Monsey following a crash between a garbage truck and a mini-van.According to the Ramapo Police Department, the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when the 1999 Mack truck and the 2015 Toyota Sienna crashed, sending the truck into the building of the former car dealership at the intersection. No injuries were reported, and the police were working quickly to remove the vehicles to minimize traffic delays. The Ramapo building inspector will check the building for any safety issues.

Teens Cleared In Sloatsburg Car Fire Death
SLOATSBURG, N.Y. -- The cause of death of a Middletown man, who was found dead outside of a burning car on a dirt road off Waldron Terrace in Sloatsburg, is still undetermined. The Rockland County medical examiner's autopsy of 48-year-old Ossen Lavaud failed to determine a cause of death, while at the same time Ramapo police are saying that three teens seen in the area have been cleared, and don't have any connection to the case, said lohud.com. Rockland Files Lawsuit Against Suez
NEW CITY, N.Y. — Rockland County has filed a lawsuit against Suez and two state agencies for failing to protect the public from costs associated with a desalination plant that was never built. "Rockland residents should not be left holding the bag for an ill-advised and poorly managed project – especially one that no one wanted and one that was ultimately shown to be unnecessary," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. A record 43 million Americans are projected to take to the highways over the July 4 holiday, fueled by lower gas prices.According to AAA, gas costs are at their lowest level for this time of year since 2005, despite some seasonal increases. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A former Bridgeport Hospital manager accused of sexual assault and voyeurism charges was found dead at his Stamford home on June 27 of an apparent suicide, according to the Connecticut Post. Barry Barkinsky, 62, was found dead when police were asked to perform a welfare check because he hadn't been seen or heard from in a couple of days, the Connecticut Post reported. UConn To Consider Stripping Cosby Of Honorary Degree
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The list of businesses and institutions that want to distance themselves from Bill Cosby continues to grow as the University of Connecticut's Board of Trustees is expected to revoke Cosby's honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts degree later this week, according to the Connecticut Post. STAMFORD, Conn. -- A key figure in the 2011 tragic Stamford Christmas Day fire that killed three children and their grandparents has failed to turn up for several depositions for lawsuits over the fire, according to the Hartford Courant. DANBURY, Conn. -- A third person has been arrested in connection with a driveway-paving scheme in Danbury that targeted older residents and charged them exorbitant prices for shoddy work. According to the Danbury Police, Rodney T. Cooper, of Latham, N.Y., turned himself in to Danbury police after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
