Osprey Nest Poses Hazard For Stratford Firefighters STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford firefighters are looking to the skies these days, just in case there is an osprey overhead carrying something to their babies that might hit the first responders in the head, according to NBC Connecticut. Fire officials told NBC Connecticut that two ospreys have built a nest above the station on a communication antenna and are dropping everything from sticks, fish and even a kitten in their path. According to police, Manfi A. Doukoure, 22, visited the Wells Fargo Bank on Main Street in Fishkill where he tried to open a bank account while using a counterfeit driver’s license. Yonkers Council Votes On $7.3M In Property Tax Refunds YONKERS, N.Y. -- Some 92 Yonkers property owners may receive more than $7.3 million in property tax refunds if approved by the Yonkers City Council on Tuesday, according to lohud.com. The refunds are for challenges made by property owners of their tax assessment through the court system and cover taxes due from the 1990s to 2014, said lohud.com. If the board approves the refunds, the biggest refund of $1,055,150.19 will be paid to 1523 Central Park Avenue Owners Inc. for taxes assessed from 2006-14, added lohud.com.
