Author Dominique Wilder Speaks At Mount Vernon Library Book Signing
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Mount Vernon Public Library will hold an special book signing and sale featuring author Dominique Wilder on Friday, May 27.The author of "The Words I Didn't Listen To," Wilder is a native of the Bronx and current resident of Boston, Mass. A brand marketing consultant and freelance cosmetologist by night, Wilder says she is a lover of God, truth, good food, laughter and sarcasm.

Ossining Student Receives $16,000 Scholarship From Ronald McDonald House
OSSINING,N.Y. --Soon Il Higashino, 18, of Ossining, recently received a $16,000 scholarship from Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area. Higashino was one of six recipients of the 2016 RMHC/ASIA (Asian Students Increasing Achievement) Scholarship Program, which supports local students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.
Higashino, who is heading for Princeton in the fall, serves as an officer at her school's environmental club and plays five instruments in five different music groups.
