East Fishkill Offices Close For Memorial Day
EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- In honor of veterans across the state, the East Fishkill Town Hall, Community Center and Lime Kiln recreation facility will be closed Monday for Memorial Day. Events happening in East Fishkill to celebrate Memorial Day include a veterans luncheon on Sunday, June 5, from noon-2:30 p.m. at the East Fishkill recreation pavilion for all East Fishkill active and retired military personnel. Events include lunch, guest speakers, and a VA health care benefits informational table.

Man Shot In Back At Bridgeport Apartment Complex
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport police are reporting that a man was shot in the back at the P.T. Barnum Apartments around noon Thursday in front of Building 15 of the complex, according to the Connecticut Post. Police are on the scene looking for the suspect who fled the area, the Connecticut Post reported. The weapon used in the shooting was a .380 semi-automatic pistol, police told the Connecticut Post. Scarsdale High School Wind Ensemble Performs At Carnegie Hall
SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- The Scarsdale High School Wind Ensemble recently played at Carnegie Hall, marking the fourth time that the ensemble has played at the prestigious venue.The musical repertoire was dedicated to emerging and significant living composers for wind band, and the Scarsdale ensemble was fortunate to have all four composers at the event. Nyack Center Launches Sound And Recording Studio
NYACK, N.Y. -- In July, the Nyack Center will open a sound and recording studio, adding to the mix of events already offered, including an after-school program, children's music classes and film screenings, according to lohud.com. Ramapo Police Respond To Gas Line Break During 200-Call Day
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police responded to Red School House Road on Wednesday after a contractor struck an underground gas line. No one was injured, but the incident prompted the department to remind residents and contractors to remember to place a location request with Dig Safely New York prior to digging. GoFundMe Page Raising Money For K-9 For Stratford PD
STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Trap Falls Kennel Club is raising $12,000 to support the Stratford Police Department’s purchase of a police K-9 through a GoFundMe page. The Stratford Police Department is in need of a new K-9 to add to the force. Department officials said each time a K-9 is retired or leaves the force, they have to replace them at significant cost. Missing Young People Located in Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Two young people reported missing on May 22 in Bridgeport are said to be home and safe, according to News 12 Connecticut. Brianna Schroeter, 15, was reported missing after attending the Refuge Temple Church of God on Main Street. The teen was reported to have been with Michael Pettway, 20, said News 12 Connecticut. MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Just in time for summer, the Memorial Pool in Leonard Park in Mount Kisco will open on Saturday, May 28 for all residents ready for splashing in the water and swimming laps now that warm weather has arrived.To use the pool, which opens at noon, residents will need a pool permit.
