Choral Society To Perform "Carmina Burana' In Bethel
BETHEL, Conn. -- The Connecticut Choral Society, along with the New Jersey Choral Society and the NJCS Choral Society will present Carol Orff’s, "Carmina Burana," on Saturday, May 21 at the Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel.
The event, which begins at 8 p.m., will include more than 200 singers, professional soloists and instrumentalists, 90 Boy Scouts presenting the colors of the nations to honor people of all cultures, and an official color guard at the opening of the concert, which includes a patriotic salute to America.

Connecticut Grows Jobs By 3,500 As Unemployment Rate Holds At 5.7%
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Connecticut added 3,5000 new jobs last month as the unemployment rate held at 5.7 percent, according to a preliminary non-farm jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.The figures estimated from the business payroll survey conducted by BLS, initially said the state had experienced a 300 job gain for March 2016, but was revised upward to 1,000.
The unemployed rate remained unchanged, but was still down one point from 5.8 percent one year ago.
