Longtime Wilton Registrar Of Voters Will Not Seek Re-Election
WILTON, Conn. -- Tina Gardner, Wilton’s Republican Registrar of Voters, who has served in the position for the past 18 years, will not run for re-election this fall, according to the Wilton Bulletin. Gardner told the Wilton Bulletin that she though it was time for someone new to serve in the position. She will serve until January 2017, and added that she is looking forward to the presidential primary and election, which she will oversee, said the Wilton Bulletin. Commuters should be prepared for lane closures as preparations for the Tappan Zee Bridge project’s cashless toll system continues near the southbound Thruway Exit 10 on-ramp and the Tarrytown toll plaza.Work associated with the system will cause midday single-lane closures on the southbound Tappan Zee Bridge on Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19. Stony Point Police Seek Owner Of Dog Found Near Parkway
STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point police officers found a dog on Route 210 near the Palisades Interstate Parkway, where he was taken into custody. Haverstraw Elks Show Appreciation For Law Enforcement Officers
HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- The Haverstraw Elks Lodge 877 recently hosted an appreciation night to honor local law enforcement officers from throughout the area for the work they perform to help keep residents safe. Many officers from all of the agencies in the county were given awards for performing outstanding police work for incidents that occurred in 2015. Overall, more than 100 officers from the county were in attendance to show respect for all of the officer's honored achievements.

Nanuet Man Charged With DWI After Accident With Injury In Orangetown
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police charged a Nanuet man with aggravated driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident Thursday after he was allegedly involved in a car accident and tested triple the legal limit for alcohol, police said. According to police, Michael Malm, 32, was involved in an accident on Middletown Road in Pearl River in which the person in the other vehicle was injured. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Residents looking for a way to give back to the community and help the Earth, can join Clearwater, the local environmental group, as it continues celebrating Earth Week 2016 by spending Thursday in Poughkeepsie working to clean up Dongan Park. Volunteers will meet at the park at Mill and Clover streets at 2:30 p.m. to clear litter from the waterways of the Fallkill. Danbury Residents Like Idea Of $15 Internet
DANBURY, Conn. -- Results of a survey sent to Danbury residents by robocall earlier this week showed they overwhelming favored receiving $15 fiber-optic internet service, according to WLAD.com. Some 12 precent of residents responded to the survey, with 76 percent saying they would favor the idea of the city hiring an outside company to install, maintain and provide the service as a way for all residents to have access to the internet, WLAD.com reported. In Drill, Shelton Firefighters Practice Rescuing Passengers From Car Wrecks
SHELTON, Conn. -- Members of the Huntingon Fire Company Number 3 in Shelton practiced their extrication skills during a recent mock training exercise. The department received two donated cars for practice. During the exercise, members split up by their experience and were given different objectives. Some were allowed Hurst tools, others were only allowed battery operated or manual tools. Fire department officials said it was a great night of training and will help keep members prepared for emergencies.
