Addresses Antisemitic Comment Made At Board Meeting: 'Not Who We Are' Dr. Major Warner, Superintendent of the Fauquier Public School District, issued a formal apology at a board meeting this week following an anti-Semitic comment made last month. Tractor Trailer Crashes On I-95 In Spotsylvania A tractor trailer crashed on I-95 in Spotsylvania on Tuesday, Oct. 17. 1 Arrested, Another At Large In Prince William County Burglary One person was arrested and another remains at large in a Prince William County burglary, police said. Jonathan Larry Ellington, 50, of Manassas, was arrested in connection with an Oct. 3 incident at a smoke shop, county police said. Ellington was accompanied by an unidentified man in burglarizing Tobacco King on Old Bridge Road, police said. Together, they took merchandise and left the area in a silver Chevrolet Impala. Screaming Drunken Woman Throws Metal Bowl At Passing Vehicle: Stafford Sheriff A 41-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after screaming, hitting, and throwing a metal bowl at passing vehicles in Stafford County, authorities said. Multiple callers told police that a woman later identified as Tanya Pendleton, of Woodford, appeared to be intoxicated and was screaming at and hitting cars as they drove by on Ferry Road on Saturday, Oct. 14, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. 'Sharp Mind:' UVA Med Student, Northern VA Native Anna Diederich Dies, 24 Anna Diederich, a medical student at the University of Virginia, died on Oct. 9, after suffering a medical emergency, her obituary says. She was 24 years old. Anna was born in Alexandria and went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame in 2021, with a degree in chemical engineering, according to her obituary on the Adams-Green Funeral Home website. She worked at the Oakcrest School in Vienna, where she had graduated in 2017, as a class dean, cross country coach, and math teacher. Tip Leads To Arrest Of Car Burglar, Package Thief In Fairfax County: Police Community tips led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man who police say had been burglarizing cars and stealing packages in Fairfax County earlier this month. Ajohnny Jordan of Herndon was identified as the suspect who broke into several cars and stoke packages in the Fair Oaks and Reston police districts on Tuesday and Wednesday Oct. 2 and 4, county police said. $15M Project Will Replace 60-Year-Old Bridge In Arlington, Public Urged To Weigh In The public is being urged to weigh in on a $15 million project planned to replace a 60-year-old bridge in Arlington. The North Old Glebe Road bridge over North Glebe Road (Route 120) was built in 1964 and today, averages 7,000 vehicles a day, the VDOT said. Rehabilitating the bridge would cost 9.75 million, and so, the county has opted to fully replace it. The new bridge will feature a wider sidewalk on the eastern side and an additional sidewalk on the western side.
