Armed Man, 22, Shot By Maryland State Troopers: Authorities
A 22-year-old armed man was shot by Maryland State Police troopers after lunging at them with a knife Friday, Aug. 18, authorities said.
A four-year veteran of the MSP and a trooper who recently graduated from the MPS academy approached responded to a home in the 44000 block of West Mervell Court in Hollywood, just before 11 p.m., State Police said.

Woman Fatally Struck By Car In Jersey Shore Town
A woman was fatally struck by a car at the Jersey Shore overnight, authorities said.
The woman, whose identity was not released as of press time, was struck at the intersection of Route 36 and Atlantic Street in Keyport, just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said.
She was taken to Bayshore Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead just after 2:15 a.m. The involved driver, also a woman, remained on the scene. The woman was not charged or ticketed
