Pedestrian Killed In Rt. 50 Crash (Update) A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Thursday, July 27 in Loudoun County. The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. near John Mosby Highway (Rt. 50) and Pleasant Valley Road in Chantilly, the sheriff's office said. A man was pronounced deceased on the scene, and the driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene. The crash remains under investigation. The name of the pedestrian was not being released, pending next of kin notification. Additional information will be provided as appropriate. The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash. …

Baker Killed In Northern VA Crash Had Profound Impact On Community The sudden death of a Northern Virginia baker has devasted his community. Pablo Teodoro III, who owned Great Harvest Bread Company in Old Town Warrenton, died in a crash on Wednesday, July 19. In addition to a GoFundMe that had raised more than $27,000 as of Thursday, July 27, the community turned out to a candlelit vigil and left loving notes on the shop doors. Serious Crash Shuts Route 55 In Vineland (Developing) A serious crash closed Route 55 in Vineland Wednesday evening, July 26. UPDATE: Police identified the 27-year-old driver killed in the crash. HAZMAT: Overturned Propane Tanker Sends 3 To Hospital, Jams I-395 A crash that left a propane tanker overturned sent three people to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, July 26 on I-395 in Arlington. The crash happened in the southbound lanes between Shirlington Circle and King Street around 1:30 p.m. HazMat crews were called to the scene as other responders brought the truck upright. Salmonella Outbreak That Sickened 9 In NJ Traced To ShopRite Ground Beef: CDC A salmonella outbreak that sickened nine people in New Jersey has been traced to ShopRite stores, officials said. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), all of the people who remembered the type of ground beef they ate and where they bought it reported eating 80% lean ground beef purchased from ShopRite locations in CT, NJ, and NY, prior to getting sick. Man, 29, Killed By NJ Transit Train A 29-year-old Union County man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train earlier this week in Essex County, officials said. Evan Krupp was struck by the Morris & Essex Line train near the Summit station around 1:20 p.m. Monday, July 24, NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. The train had left Hackettstown just before noon and was set to arrive in Hoboken at 2 p.m., Mulumba said. No injuries were reported to the 45 passengers. The crash suspended service for several hours.

Serial Assault Suspect Exposes Genitals To Women Pumping Gas In Northern VA: Police A 41-year-old man with a history of assault is in custody again, this time for indecent exposure, police said. Ralph Edon is believed to have exposed himself to women in their 20s at a gas station on Occoquan Road on Wednesday evening, July 25 in Woodbridge, Prince William County police said. Edon exposed himself and made inappropriate gestures before the parties separated, and Edon walked away, police said. He was charged with indecent exposure and obscene sexual display.
