A day after a 27-year-old was shot in Newark, a 22-year-old East Orange man was fatally shot on Saturday, Dec. 23, authorities said. Newark Man Fatally Shot: Prosecutors A 27-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 22, authorities said. At 9:52 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 200 block of Springfield Avenue and found Rodney Wrice outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. State Investigating Clark Township Following Discrimination Allegations The woes for Clark Township continue. State Attorney General Matthew Platkin announced the Division on Civil Rights is launching an investigation into the township over whether public officials and the police department violated the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination. Plainfield Man Indicted In Fatal Shooting Of Star Football Player: Prosecutors A 23-year-old Plainfield man was indicted by a grand jury for murder in the shooting death of a former college football player last August. 13-Year-Old Boy Shot In Newark: Authorities A 13-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot in Newark on Wednesday, Dec. 20, authorities said. At 10:43 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Leslie Street on a report of shots fired, and found the boy at Grand Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director, Fritz Fragé said. The boy had been shot at Leslie Street and was taken to University Hospital, Fragé said. The shooting resulted in a brief lockdown at Bragaw Avenue School, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

NJ Transit Officers Stop Suicidal Jumper In Hoboken New Jersey Transit Police helped save a person in distress in Hoboken recently. A person had crossed over a safety railing at Hoboken Terminal, aiming to jump into the Hudson River, police said. Police used physical restraint to prevent the person from jumping, while engaging in dialogue with the person, officers said.
