Darien Marine Police Rescue Man Who Jumped From Burning Boat DARIEN, Conn. – The Darien Marine Police rescued a man that had to jump from his burning boat following an explosion on Saturday, officials said.  The explosion caused the boat operator's shirt to catch fire. He then jumped into Long Island Sound to extinguish it. He suffered minor burns to his torso, face and arms, police said.  The operator taken to an area hospital for his injuries, police said.
