Major River Vale Construction Project Closes Rivervale Rd. RIVER VALE, N.J. -- Rivervale Rd. will be closed from Old Tappan Road to Town Hall as crews begin phase 2 of a major construction project on Thursday, Dec. 10.  No Traffic will be allowed in the work zone and will have to follow posted detours.  The section of Rivervale Rd. is expected to be closed for approximately 2-3 months.  Those traveling eastbound will be detoured to Old Tappan Road to Washington Avenue then to Westwood Avenue. Westbound motorists will be detoured to Prospect Avenue  then to Ruckman Road and finally to Piermont Avenue.
