Anthony Zukowski, 95, Bridgeport Resident BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Anthony Michael Zukowski, of Bridgeport, husband of the late Nell Dombek Zukowski, passed away Monday, March 9, at Northbridge Health Care. He was 95. Born in Bristol, Conn., on Nov. 16, 1919, Zukowski was the son of the late Matthew and Michalena Lobaczewski (Jalutis) Zukowski. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy with a rank of chief signalman. He retired at the age of 89 as a judicial marshal at Bridgeport Superior Court. Yonkers Building Evacuated Following Mudslide YONKERS, N.Y. -- A building on 97 Walsh Road was evacuated on Wednesday following a mudslide from the old Croton Aqueduct, according to Yonkers officials.  The building is a large multi-family apartment building that houses mostly seniors. Doris (Thorn) Starro, 91, Yonkers Resident YONKERS, N.Y. -- Doris Starro (Thorn), of Yonkers, died Sunday, March 8. She was 91. Starro was born Sept. 1, 1923, to Leroy and Ellen (Brazel) Thorn in Yonkers, where she was raised, attended local schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School. On July 16, 1950, she married the late Thomas J. Starro Sr. at St. Bartholomew's Church.
