Man Charged With Stealing Two TVs At ShopRite In Carmel CARMEL, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriffs Department charged a man with petty larceny after he allegedly tried to steal two televisions from the ShopRite location in Carmel on Saturday, according to officials.  Douglas D. Harris, Jr., 44, of Lloyd, N.Y., allegedly took the two televisions, placed them in his cart, and left the store without paying, police said.  Harris was remanded to Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 bail pending a future court date, police said.

Burriesci  was born July 19, 1925, and was one of eight children. Teacher At Cortlandt Music School Tours Greece CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The students at The Cortlandt School of Performing Arts will be on school winter vacation next week, but their woodwinds teacher, Steven Frieder, will be in Greece performing with Milo Z, an underground New York City music legend, and his funk band. Frieder is the woodwinds instructor at the school of performing arts with a particular focus in saxophone and clarinet. This won't be Frieder's first international performance, either. The Croton-on-Hudson native was also selected to represent the New School at the Bern Jazz Festival in Switzerland in April 2013.

Weather Slows Tappan Zee Bridge Construction Project TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The recent bout of subfreezing temperatures has slowed progress on the new Tappan Zee Bridge, according to News 12 Westchester.  Crews are still able to do some work during the cold snap like inspections, adjusting mooring lines and occasionally some additional pile driving, News 12 Westchester reported.  Officials anticipated New York's brutal winters when planning the construction and left a two-month window in the timetable to account for weather conditions, News 12 Westchester said.  Click here to read and watch the full story.

Man Charged Following Dover Break-In DOVER, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Dover barracks arrested a local man for allegedly breaking in to Olivet Center on Monday, according to officials.  Troopers answered a trespassing complaint at the Olivet Center and allegedly observed Andrew C. Mayes, 25, in one of the buildings, police said.  Mayes attempted to flee on foot, but was located by a state canine unit, police said. Mayes was arraigned remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $15,000 bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Dover Court on March 9, police said.
