Pleasantville Grad Is College Track Rookie Of Week, Sizzles In 3,000-M Run
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Drew Dorflinger, Pleasantville High School Class of 2016 and a member of the PHS 4x800 NYS Championship team was named the Rookie of the Week on Tuesday by the Patriot League.
Dorflinger, a freshman at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., received the honor after a strong performance at the Nittany Lion Challenge.
Running in the 3,000-meter race for the first time in a Bison uniform, Dorflinger finished third in a field of 14 runners with a time of 8:27.42. His time is tied for fifth-fastest in the Patriot League and is the top mark by a freshman, said team official…
Victims In Route 22 Crash in Brewster Identified

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- The victims in a violent head-on crash between a pickup truck and a Verizon truck on Route 22 on Tuesday have been identified, according to Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.
David H. Mossman, 23, of Southeast, has been identified as the driver of the pickup truck.
The driver of the Verizon truck was identified as Joseph J. Politi, 49, of Orchard Poughquag, and his passenger was identified as Giuseppe Assenza, 48, of Poughkeepsie, Capt. William McNamara said.
Mossman was transported by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla…
Wappingers, Poughkeepsie Residents Face DWI, Petit Larcency Charges
Two Poughkeepsie and a Wappingers resident were collared by Town of Lloyd Police on a variety of charges including DWI, and petit theft, according to the Town of Lloyd Police Department.
The arrests include:
Latoya M. Elmendorf, 34, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with DWI and other charges on Sunday after being stopped on Route 9 W in Highland for a number of traffic violations. According to police, during the stop, they discovered Elmendorf was in possession of marijuana, was intoxicated and driving without a license.
