Greeley Wrestling Team Wins First Title In 27 Years After Beating Fox Lane CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- For the first time in 27 years, the Horace Greeley varsity wrestling team beat Fox Lane High School's team 51-24 to win a league title on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The win, the first since 1990, and the first victory over Fox Lane in over 20 years was led by coaches Mike DeBellis and Anthony Tortora. Pleasantville Grad Is College Track Rookie Of Week, Sizzles In 3,000-M Run PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Drew Dorflinger, Pleasantville High School Class of 2016 and a member of the PHS 4x800 NYS Championship team was named the Rookie of the Week on Tuesday by the Patriot League. Dorflinger, a freshman at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., received the honor after a strong performance at the Nittany Lion Challenge. Running in the 3,000-meter race for the first time in a Bison uniform, Dorflinger finished third in a field of 14 runners with a time of 8:27.42. Putnam Man Stole More Than $1,000 At Mall, Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Putnam Valley man was charged Sunday with stealing more than $1,000 from a cash register at the Sears store at the Jefferson Valley Mall, according to the Yorktown Police. Dominic Santucci, 53, was charged with felony grand larceny after a police investigation uncovered he had stolen $1,017 over nine days from a cash register at the store, police said. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 16.

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- The victims in a violent head-on crash between a pickup truck and a Verizon truck on Route 22 on Tuesday have been identified, according to Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith. David H. Mossman, 23, of Southeast, has been identified as the driver of the pickup truck.  The driver of the Verizon truck was identified as Joseph J. Politi, 49, of Orchard Poughquag, and his passenger was identified as Giuseppe Assenza, 48, of Poughkeepsie, Capt. William McNamara said. The break in a 2-inch line at 1115 Cortlandt St., was discovered at 9:57 a.m., said ConEd Spokesman Bob McGee.
