POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Oh no, Golden Corral fans are going to have to wait a bit longer for the grand opening of the new restaurant in the Town of Poughkeepsie, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.The store, which was scheduled to open on Sunday, is now scheduled to open on Friday, Jan. 27, because of an inspector's schedule, said the Poughkeepsie Journal. Suspicious Man Outside With Bathrobe Among North Castle Police Reports
NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- A report of a man walking down Whippoorwill Road East in a maroon bathrobe topped the North Castle Police Department's calls for the week. The calls included: On Jan. 8: Around 11:15 .a.m. a resident called the police to report that a man in a maroon bathrobe was walking up Whippoorwill Road East near Briggs Lane. White Plains Man Lands White House Post In Final Days Of Obama Presidency
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- In the waning days of the Obama White House, a White Plains resident has been re-appointed by the president to a serve as a member of the Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad. Herbert Block has worked with the commission since 2011 that operates as an independent Federal agency established to help preserve cultural sites in Eastern and Central Europe associated with the heritage of U.S. citizens. SUV Crashes After Losing Control Near Consumer Reports Building In Yonkers
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- An SUV spun out of control around 8 a.m. Monday and crashed in Yonkers, according to the Yonkers Police Department. The driver, who went off the road near the Consumer Reports building on Executive Boulevard off the Saw Mill River Parkway, did not appear to be injured, said Yonkers police. No other cars were involved in the crash, police added.

'Race Against Time' As Search Resumes For Ramapo Councilman Daniel Friedman

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rockland County Sheriff's Marine Unit members were back in the water Friday searching for the body of Daniel Friedman who is presumed to have jumped from Bear Moutain Bridge late last month. Ramapo Police's Search For Fugitive Enters Fifth Year
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The Ramapo Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating Cesar Catalan-Roca, who is wanted for driving while intoxicated. Catalan-Roca, who is this week's #FugitiveFriday pick, is wanted on the charges that stem from an incident that occurred on New Year's Day in 2012, police said. Poughkeepsie Stabbing Victim In Fatal Crash Case Improves
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A woman who was stabbed in Poughkeepsie before her attacker caused a double-fatal crash on the Mid-Hudson Bridge on Wednesday is improving, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police.
