Yorktown HS Cheerleaders Support Family Of Victim Of DWI Fatality
YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- It only took a few seconds for the Yorktown High School Varsity cheerleaders to raise three fingers in memory of Robby Schartner, a member of the Manhattanville Men's Lacrosse team, who wore Number 3, and was killed by an alleged drunk driver, but it was an important few seconds.The cheerleaders were taking part in an effort supported by Schartner's family by helping to remind people not to drink and drive, said Joann Baker, a mother of one of the cheerleaders.

Illegal Nightclub Bust Leads Police To Cocaine, Heroin & Cash
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Four local men were busted for heroin, cocaine and cash when City of Poughkeepsie police raided an illegal nightclub in a Morgan Avenue basement, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Shaquille R. Byrd, 23; Brian M. Creary, 40; and David L. Ollivierre, 26, along with Sait Yakup, 29, were charged Friday, Oct. 21 with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
The men were released on $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond, added the Poughkeepsie Journal.

PAWLING, N.Y. -- Cecilia Hart Jones, 68, the wife of actor James Earl Jones and Dutchess County resident, died Sunday, Oct. 16 after a battle with ovarian cancer, according to multiple reports.
Her death was announced on Westportnow.com, a news website in Westport. Conn. where the actress starred in a “Bedroom Farce” last year at the Westport County Playhouse, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The couple have owned a home in Pawling for several years. Their son Flynn attended school at the Poughkeepsie Day School, said the Hudson Valley Post.

Brewster Man, 20, Charged With Selling Xanax
BREWSTER, N.Y. -- A Brewster man is facing felony drug charges after being nabbed by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office for selling drugs in the Town of Southeast, according to Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith.
In June, a deputy sheriff assigned to the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) developed information that John Power, 20, was selling prescription pills in the Town of Southeast area, police said.
The deputy was able to arrange for the purchase of pills from Powers. Following the buy, the deputy located Powers on Thursday, Oct. 20 and arrested him for the sale…
