Police Release ID Of Motorcyclist, 28, Killed In Poughkeepsie Crash
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie man was killed on Sunday after his motorcycle was hit by a car on Route 9, north of Spring Road, around 5:40 p.m., according to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department.
Investigators with the department's Traffic Enforcement Unit are investigating the accident that killed Brian Freer, 28, and closed the highway overnight, police said.

SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- An off-duty New York City police officer who shot and killed ex-Spring Valley resident Delrawn Small following a road rage incident on July 4, was charged Monday with second-degree murder, according to multiple reports.

Police: Man In Disabled Car In New Rochelle Had BAC Four Times Legal Limit
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- An intoxicated man in a disabled car on Interstate 95 near exit 16 was found to have a blood alcohol content at four times the legal limit, according to the New York State Police.
Troopers found David S. Rippel, 59, of Greenwich, Conn., at 1:08 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 in a broken-down Lincoln Town car and realized he was intoxicated, state police said.
