BEDFORD, N.Y. -- William Louis-Dreyfus, 84, of Bedford, a billionaire business mogul and the father of actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, died Friday, Sept. 16.Known locally as a generous philanthropist and art-collector who gave away much of his fortune to needy organizations such as The Harlem Children's Zone, he also opened an art gallery in Mount Kisco to support local organizations including the Bedford Hills Free Library and the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund, according to People.com.

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Fans of the HBO show "Girls" will want to head for Hastings-on-Hudson on Monday, Sept. 19, when the cast takes over a local restaurant to film a scene for their popular show, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
The show is no stranger to the area, filming scenes for the upcoming season at Fishkill Farms on Wednesday, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Putnam Valley Woman Drove Drunk With 4-Year-Old In Backseat, Police Say
PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- A Putnam Valley woman was charged with drunk driving with her 4-year-old child in the backseat following a minor car accident in Yorktown Thursday night, Yorktown police said.
Melissa McLaughlin, 28, was arrested on Wood Street around 10:30 p.m. after Yorktown police received a call regarding an auto accident.
When officers arrived on scene, they found McLaughlin, driving a 2005 Saturn had hit a 2003 Chevrolet, causing minor injuries to the vehicles, police said.
