Man, Woman Charged After 32 Bags Of Heroin, Crack Found In Beacon
BEACON, N.Y. -- Two Hudson Valley residents were charged with possession of drugs after Beacon Police officers found crack cocaine and heroin during a traffic stop.
Dean Nelson, 41, and Stacie Towles, 46, of Newburgh were busted after officers smelled marijuana during the stop and discovered that Towles, the driver, had an active bench warrant for her arrest, said Beacon Police Chief Douglas Solomon.
During a search of the 2008 Honda Accord, officers uncovered 20 bags of crack cocaine and 12 bags of heroin. Towles also had a small amount of marijuana in her possession, Solomon said.

Stamford Man Who Jumped White House Fence Avoids Jail
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A local man who jumped over the White House fence in order to deliver his version of the Constitution will likely avoid jail after taking a plea deal on Monday in federal court in Washington, D.C., according to the Stamford Advocate.
Joseph Caputo, 23, who jumped the fence last Thanksgiving, pled guilty to unlawfully entry onto restricted grounds, said the Stamford Advocate.

Ramapo Police Charge Hillcrest Man With DWI
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Hillcrest man was charged with driving drunk by Ramapo police after he was stopped on Route 45 for driving erratically on Sunday.Julio Folgar, 58, was charged after the Ramapo Police Department received a report of an erratic driver and officers found that he was driving under the influence, police said. In addition, Ramapo officers investigated 10 motor vehicle accidents, with one resulting in injuries in Montebello. The other accidents occurred in Monsey , New Square (2), Sloatsburg (2), Airmont (2) and Hillcrest.
