Poughkeepsie Man Charged With DWI Had BAC Twice Legal Limit, Police Say A Poughkeepsie man was charged with driving under the influence after he stopped for speeding by state police on Interstate 87 in Woodbury on Saturday, Aug. 28. During the stop, police said that Michael T. Purdy, 52, was intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. Blood test, following his arrest showed that he was driving at twice the legal limit with a blood alcohol content at 0.21 percent.  He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and speeding. Purdy was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets.

Kent Police Charge Man With Identity Theft KENT, N.Y. -- A man wanted by Kent police on identity theft charges, was recently nabbed by Ardsley Police when he tried to get a temporary debit card using a fake driver's license at a local bank. Michael Murphy 62, of the Bronx was wanted by Kent police for obtaining a debit card by using a fake driver's license with his photo on it at the Wells Fargo Bank on Route 52 in June.  When he was attempting to use it to withdraw $2,500, a teller became suspicious and began asking Murphy questions. Police Investigate Fight At Wilton High School WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton Police are looking into an altercation that occurred on Wednesday on the Wilton High School field between two groups of students, according to the Wilton Bulletin. Police said that a fight broke out around 8:30 p.m., between the students, one group from Ridgefield High School and another from Wilton High School, said the Wilton Bulletin. A Ridgefield student was injured and police said they are still investigating the incident to determine what caused the fight. No arrests were made, added the Wilton Bulletin.
