Bridgeport Man Videotaped Women While He Beat Them Naked, Police Say
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was arrested for the fourth time on Wednesday for what authorities call being a serial abuser in which he would force girlfriends to remove their clothes and then beat and demean them as he video taped the abuse, according to the Connecticut Post.
Carlos Serrano, 32, of Brooks Street, who is being held on $600,000 bond, was charged with assault, coercion, assault on a pregnant person, first-degree unlawful restraint, threatening, tampering with a witness and intimidating a witness, said the Connecticut Post.

Stamford Man Nabbed With Loaded Gun, Pot Near Southwood Square
STAMFORD, Conn. -- After receiving a tip about a man with a gun, the Stamford Police Department's Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit arrested a city man Tuesday, Aug. 2, with a large stash of marijuana and a loaded gun, police said.
Officers responded to the Southwood Square and noticed a man on Montauk Avenue quickly take something out of his pocket and put it in his car as they cruised the area, according to Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.

Stratford's Sterling House Food Pantry Shelves Are Bare
STRATFORD, Conn. -- If you are hungry and live in Stratford, there's one place that most people know they can find food -- the Sterling House Community Center.
But these days, due to a holdup in Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) funding, and a lack of donations from locals, the cupboards of the food pantry at Sterling House are bare.
On average, the Sterling House feeds more than 7,123 people a year, or in other words, they give away some 57,561 pounds of food to those in need, said Ray O'Donnell, resource connection director for the center.
