Rockland Legislature Votes To Seek Bids On Sain Building
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- After months of taking political swipes at each other over the sale of the Sain Building, Rockland County Legislature Chairman Alden H. New Parking Meters In Yonkers Allow Drivers To Pay With Phone
YONKERS, N.Y. -- Drivers will soon be able to pay for parking via their smartphones thanks to a new mobile app that connects to parking meters throughout Yonkers, according to Mayor Mike Spano. Spano said the new technology was due to a partnership with Parkmobile and Parkeon that will allow customers to pay for parking via smart phone using Parkmobile’s mobile applications for the iPhone, Android, Windows 7, and Blackberry smartphones. Police Dish Out 61 Tickets In 'High-Risk' Area Of I-684
BEDFORD, N.Y. -- In an effort to slow down speeding drivers along Interstate 684, New York State Police conducted a speed enforcement detail in Bedford in Westchester County that ended with 61 tickets being dished out. According to Trooper Melissa McMorris, the area was targeted because it is considered a "high-risk" area with a potential for fatal accidents. Attention Westport Golfers: Major Improvements Coming to Longshore Bunkers
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Golfers who regularly curse the Longshore bunkers, can soon rejoice as more than $1.1 million has been approved by the Westport's Board of Finance to make improvements to the area.The improvements, with funding primarily provided via golfers greens fees, will include liners to prevent rocks, improved bunker lips, irrigation, and playability enhancement. The effort will be coordinated by Parks and Recreation Director Jen Fava, Chairman Charlie Haberstroh, and a special consultant.
