Visitor Brought Pot Into Prison In Fishkill, Police Say
FISHKILL, N.Y. -- A New York City woman found herself behind bars after bringing drugs to the Downstate Correctional Facility while visiting an inmate on Wednesday, July 6.According to New York State police, Tatiana McLaughlin, 25, was found to be in possession of suboxone, a medication used to treat narcotic opiate addiction, and synthetic marijuana during her visit.
She was arrested and charged with felony first-degree promoting prison contraband, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree promoting prison contraband, police said.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Calling all kids who love to play -- the City of White Plains will open the new playground and fitness area at Kittrell Park on Friday, July 8.The playground, which officially opens at 1 p.m., replaces an older, existing play structure with a fully accessible and adaptable one for all children, ages 2 -12, to enjoy.

Beacon Police Charge 2 With Using Counterfeit Money
BEACON, N.Y. -- Two people were charged Friday by the Beacon Police Department with passing counterfeit money at local businesses, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.The two, caught on Main Street about 8:43 p.m., were Shatika Gorhan, 23, and Craig Roberts, 32, of Beacon. According to police, Gorhan was found with a large amount of counterfeit U.S. dollar bills when stopped. Roberts, who also had a large quantity of fake bills, as well as equipment to create the money, matched the description of a person who had used counterfeit cash at a business in Beacon, said the Poughkeepsie Journal. …
Daryl Hall, Owner of Pawling Restaurant, Gets Star On Walk Of Fame
PAWLING, N.Y. -- Rocker and Dutchess County businessman Daryl Hall, along with his band mate John Oates, have been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Hall, who owns Daryl's House Restaurant and music venue in Pawling, and is a former Redding, Conn., resident, learned last week of the star, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
