Stratford Police Marine Unit Rescues Dog During Fireworks
STRATFORD, Conn. -- With all of the excitement of fireworks and holiday celebrations it was the Stratford Police Marine Unit to the rescue when a local dog swam into the river to escape the sound of the fireworks.Luckily, the unit was able to retrieve the pooch and return him safe, if a little wet, to his owner after the fireworks show.

Wilton Police Looking For New K-9 Officer
WILTON, Conn. -- Due to non-life threatening medical issues of their current K-9 Officer Enzo, the Wilton Police Department is in the process of a finding a new K-9 to take his place -- something that's not an easy task with dogs and their training running as high as $20,000.To help get the unit on its feet, the department has selected Officer Eric Patenaude to take over the K-9 Unit and to find the perfect dog. Early Morning Shooting Leaves 3 Wounded In Middletown
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- Three men were shot early Tuesday morning in Middletown, leaving two in serious condition, according to Time Warner Cable News. Middletown police said the shooting took place about 1:40 a.m.on Oak Ridge Road. Police are still investigating the shooting, and no arrests have been made, said TWC News. All three men, who are being treated at Orange Regional Medical Center, are expected to survive. Two are from Middletown, the third wounded man is from Scotchtown, added TWC News. Poughkeepsie Police Seek Suspects After Dog Is Thrown From Moving Car
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- City of Poughkeepsie Police are looking for the people who threw a male dog out of a moving car in the area of Morgan Lake on Saturday. The dog (pictured above), which is recovering from the incident after sustaining minor injuries, was thrown out the window of a four-door silver vehicle before being aided by good Samaritans, police said.
