Monsey Couple Convicted Of Drug Charges Linked To Major Raid
MONSEY, N.Y. -- A Monsey couple was convicted by a Rockland County Court jury on felony charges of possessing cocaine during a series of raids last year, according to lohud.com.Patricia Mortel, 34, and Aaron Parker, 30, face up to 20 years in state prison when they are sentenced in September. POMONA, N.Y. -- World famous aerialist Nik Wallenda will attempt to perform a daring walk across Palisades Credit Union Park on Saturday, June 25, before the Rockland Boulders take on the Cuban National Baseball Team, the team announced Thursday. STAMFORD, Conn. -- A North Stamford man who was about to be arrested by police,ran into his dark basement and fell head first into weight lifting bench, causing his death on Wednesday, according to Stamford Police Capt. Rich Conklin. Conklin said the Chief Medical Examiner said that Peter Cebo's death was a result of a bizarre accident. Bridgeport Man Tries To Bite Friend's Face Off
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A local man went a little zombie on his friend by trying to bite his face off, according to the Connecticut Post. Police told the Connecticut Post that Joseph Jones, 50, and a friend were hanging out when Jones lunged at the man and began biting his face, taking a chunk of his face off. The friend was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery, the Connecticut Post reported. Fireworks Coming Early To Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury just can't wait for July 4th so they're getting a jump on the fun by setting off their fireworks at Candlewood Lake this Saturday, June 25 (rain day June 26).And to help make it easier for everyone to enjoy the brilliant lights, a free Carvel shuttle will be available in front of the Carvel in the North Street Plaza from 6:30 to 11 p.m. The shuttle will run a non-stop loop the entire time. Fireworks begin at dusk, so boaters will want to be in place early. The event is put on by the Danbury Volunteer Fire Department.

Man Found Dead In Rockland Mourned By Friends, Family
SLOATSBURG, N.Y. -- A Middletown man found dead near a car fire on a dirt road in the Village of Sloatsburg on Wednesday, June 22, is being mourned by his friends and family members, according to News 12.Authorities, who found the body of Oseen Lavaud, 48, when responding to a car fire on Waldron Terrace, are calling the death "suspicious." BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was seriously injured on Wednesday, June 22, after crashing his motor scooter while not wearing a helmet, according to News 12 Connecticut.
