Bridgeport Man Clinging To Life Following Scooter Crash
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was seriously injured on Wednesday, June 22, after crashing his motor scooter while not wearing a helmet, according to News 12 Connecticut. Luis Colon, 20, drove through a stop sign and hit a car, leaving him clinging to life, said News 12. The accident happened at the intersection of Orchard and Pearl Streets, added News 12. Westport Residents Can Expect Heavy Traffic, Delays During Half-Marathon
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport residents should take note that traffic will be crazy in the Green Farms area when more than 3,000 runner hit Westport streets during the running of the Fairfield Half Marathon on Sunday, June 26.Runners will enter Westport on Greens Farms Road at the Fairfield town line, continuing to New Creek Road and on to Beachside Avenue before exiting into Southport. The runners are expected to enter town by 8:15 a.m. and exit by 10:15 a.m. for the three-mile section of the race through Westport. Easton Residents Should Expect Road Closures Next Week
EASTON, Conn. -- Easton residents can expect temporary road closures for paving beginning Monday, June 27 and running through the end of the week. Both Judd Road and Center Road will be closed at times from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The paving will take place from Judd Road between Route 59 and Hiram Hill Road (Monroe), and on Center Road between Banks Road and Adams Road.

Bethel Woman Charged With Using Machete In Attack
BETHEL, Conn. -- A Bethel woman was charged with wildly swinging a machete at a person she was arguing with early June 19 on Greenwood Avenue, according to WLAD.com. Bethel Police told WLAD.com that Maria Medina, 47, starting hitting the person and threatened to kill them before grabbing the machete out of a car and began swinging it at the person and a vehicle. Medina managed to damage the inside and outside of the vehicle before being restrained by police, WLAD.com reported. Police Recover Stolen Crucifix, Return It To Yonkers Church
YONKERS, N.Y. -- Members of the Yonkers Police Department Detective Division returned a stolen crucifix to Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart on Wednesday. The crucifix was stolen in a burglary which occurred at the church in October of 2014. After a lengthy investigation, information was developed and the crucifix was recovered by Yonkers Police detectives on Tuesday, June 21. No arrest has been made at this time in connection with the burglary. Detectives and Police Commissioner Charles Gardner presented the crucifix to the Rev. Maurice Moreau, the pastor, on the steps of the church. …

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A convicted sexual predator from White Plains with a history of violence was arrested for trying to lure a 15-year-old Greenwich teen into his car by offering drugs, according to Greenwich Time. John Altman, 69, who is being held on $150,000 bail, was charged with risk of injury to a minor, dispensing a controlled substance to a person under 18 and breach of peace. Stevenson Dam Closing To Traffic This Weekend
MONROE, Conn. -- Motorists should be ready to find an alternate route as maintenance work will close the Stevenson Dam Bridge for another weekend beginning on Saturday, June 25. The bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, and will re-open at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 26. Traffic will be detoured onto Route 111, Route 110 and Bridge Street in the city of Shelton. Long-distance traffic is advised to take Route 8 and Interstate 84. Motorists are advised to follow detour signs and directions of uniformed police officers.

Police Search For Two Men In Upper Nyack Citgo Mart Robbery
UPPER NYACK, N.Y. -- Clarkstown police are asking for help in identifying two men responsible for a reported robbery at the Citgo Mart store in Upper Nyack. Police said they found the front door of the store at 501 N. Highland Ave., smashed open and the store's cash register missing about 1 a.m. Wednesday. The owner of the store believes there was about $200 in the cash register when stolen.
