Fisherman Rescued From Water Near Penfield Reef In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A fisherman was rescued near the Penfield Reef in Fairfield after wading out to fish and ending up in neck-deep water with only the top of his head visible, according to the Connecticut Post. The man rescued by the Fairfield Fire Department marine unit and an engine company was found just west of the lighthouse, said the Connecticut Post. Bystanders told firefighters that the man had waded out to fish and within 30 minutes only the top of his head was visible, the Connecticut Post reported.
