NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Care of seniors affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias has taken a leap forward with the opening of Willow Gardens Memory Care, a residential facility at United Hebrew of New Rochelle. Fisherman Rescued From Water Near Penfield Reef In Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A fisherman was rescued near the Penfield Reef in Fairfield after wading out to fish and ending up in neck-deep water with only the top of his head visible, according to the Connecticut Post. The man rescued by the Fairfield Fire Department marine unit and an engine company was found just west of the lighthouse, said the Connecticut Post. Bystanders told firefighters that the man had waded out to fish and within 30 minutes only the top of his head was visible, the Connecticut Post reported. Stamford Teens Arrested In 11 Darien Car Break-Ins
DARIEN, Conn. -- A group of five Stamford teens were charged with conspiracy to burglary and burglary in Darien on June 18 after a resident saw them breaking into vehicles, according to the Darien Times. The Anthony Lane resident reported observing a group of five young men breaking into vehicles around 5:30 a.m. to the Darien Police. Woman Found Wandering Stamford Street In Underwear
STAMFORD, Conn. -- An unidentified 22-year-old woman was found at the corner of West Hill Road and Green Tea Lane on Saturday walking around in only her underwear, according to the Stamford Advocate. The woman, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, was taken to Stamford Hospital after she was found wandering and couldn't tell police why she was doing so, said the Stamford Advocate. Reconstruction Of Middlebush Road In Wappinger Begins Next Week
WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- Work will begin to reconstruct a portion of Middlebush Road (County Road 93), between Pleasant Lane and Cameli Drive in the town of Wappinger on Monday, June 27, according to the Dutchess County Department of Public Works.The reconstruction will realign the curves along the roadway to enhance safety and ridability. CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Clarkstown South Mock Trial team won the Rockland and Westchester County 2016 Finals after competing in six rounds of the county New York State Bar Mock Trial Competition. YONKERS, N.Y. -- A man who was standing on Riverdale Avenue was shot in the leg Sunday by an unknown assailant, according to News 12.
