Two Teens Charged With Stealing From Sears YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown police arrested two 14-year-olds on charges of stealing from the Sears store in Yorktown.The girls, one from Yorktown and one from Cortlandt Manor, were arrested after police responded to the store, where the two had been stopped by store security on suspicion of shoplifting more than $160 worth of merchandise. Both girls were processed at the scene and released to their parents. Mount Kisco Fire Leaves Seven Homeless MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- An electrical problem started a fire Sunday that ripped through a multifamily home on Kiscona Road in Mount Kisco, leaving seven people without homes, according to News 12. More than 40 firefighters from the Mount Kisco, Bedford Hills and Katonah fire departments responded to the blaze, which began about 11 a.m. It took firefighters about 10 minutes to douse the blaze that caused major damage to the home. Brookfield School District Hires Finance Chief BROOKFIELD, Conn.. -- The Brookfield School District has hired a new director of business operations, the fifth since 2014 when then Finance Director Art Colley was arrested for larceny, according to WLAD.com. Ken Post of Bethel, who held a similar position in Wilton, has been hired as the new director. Post has a master's degree in education, said WLAD.com. Greenwich Woman Charged With Swapping Bags At Westport Store WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Greenwich woman was arrested on June 17 after stealing a $900 handbag at Roundabout in Westport, according to the Westport police. Regina Murphy-Dixon, 50, was charged with fifth-degree larceny after she took a $900 Burberry handbag into the dressing room, and then replaced the bag with her own before leaving the store, police said. Dixon, who was caught on video surveillance, was contacted by police later that day, police said. She denied swapping the bags, at which time police issued a warrant for her arrest, according to police reports.
