New Canaan's Saxe Middle School Raising Funds For Playground In Kenya NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A group of eighth-graders from Saxe Middle School in New Canaan, with the guidance of STEM teacher Vivian Birdsall, are working to raise $3,500 for a school in Kenya that needs a playground. They have set up a GoFundMe page as well as donation boxes at the school, and are planning a special event on June 10. The Nambale Magnet School, located in Nambale, Kenya, is the first of its kind and provides a chance for orphaned children to live better lives.  For the past several years, Birdsall has traveled to Africa countless times to provide aid to the children.
