Aerodrome In Red Hook Lands Spirit Of St. Louis Replica
RED HOOK, N.Y. -- After more than 10 years of work, a replica of Charles Lindbergh's Sprit of St. Louis will be unveiled on Saturday, May 21, at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Red Hook, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
The aerodrome, which showcases vintage, early 20th-century planes, said that in addition to having such a significant piece to add to the fleet, the Spirit of St. Louis will also help draw tourists to the area. The plane will be flown during aerodrome air shows from mid-June to mid-October, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Senators Unveil Effort Against Rockland County 'Zombie' Homes
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. — On Wednesday, state Sens. Jeff Klein, D-Bronx, and David Carlucci, D-Clarkstown, unveiled a new report, “The Great American Bank Robbery: Rockland County,” detailing about $11.6 million in property value depreciation resulting from poorly maintained bank-owned homes and zombie properties.
The duo, used the unveiling of the report, the fourth in a series of reports conducted by the Senate Independent Democratic Conference, to issue their demand for new legislation to combat neighborhood blight from the bank-owned and zombie properties.

Former Stony Hill Fire Chief Emile Racenet Dies
BETHEL, Conn. -- Emile Ernest Racenet, 77, former chief of the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department, died on Saturday, May 7. Racenet joined the department in 1963 and served as chief from 1983-1985. He served close to 40 years before retiring in 1985 to pursue his dream of opening his own landscaping business with his son Emile Jr.
He later retired, and moved with his wife, Patricia, to Ancram, to a 25-acre farm where he enjoyed raising chickens, heifers and bees.
Racenet was born on Governor's Island and was raised in Southbury, where he graduated from high school. He served in the U.S. …
