Westchester Land Trust Announces Grant Award BEDFORD, N.Y. – The Westchester Land Trust in Bedford Hills has been awarded a $1.84 million dollar Hudson Valley Agricultural Enhancement Program grant from New York State’s Department of Agriculture and Markets that will protect Stuart’s Fruit Farm in Somers forever. The project—which took nearly a decade to put together—is valued at almost $3 million, and includes critical financial support from Westchester County, Scenic Hudson, the Town of Somers, and Somers Land Trust as well as the WLT, and others. Norwalk Vaccination Initiative A Success NORWALK, Conn. -- Year after year, the Norwalk Health Department works hard to make sure Norwalkers receive their recommended vaccines, especially the area's youngest citizens. Trumbull Cops Charge Bridgeport Man With Stealing Vacuum Cleaner TRUMBULL, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was arrested on charges of trying to walk out of the Target in the Westfield Trumbull Mall on May 7 with a vacuum cleaner and a set of knives, according to the Trumbull Times. Terrell Henderson, 40, was charged with fifth-degree larceny, possession of a shoplifting device and third-degree robbery after security guards saw him cut off the security sensors and try to walk out of the store without paying, said the Trumbull Times. Fairfield Animal Control To Offer Low-Cost Rabies Vaccinations FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield Animal Control will hold a low cost pet rabies vaccination clinic at the Animal Shelter at on Saturday, May 14 in Fairfield. The clinic will be sponsored for the 28th year by the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, with Dr. John Kristy of the Engelberg Kristy Animal Hospital vaccinating cats and dogs.
