Winter Bros. Waste Systems Partners With Danbury For Clean-Up
DANBURY, Conn. -- Grab a pair of gloves and brave the rain to help make Danbury shine by joining Winters Bros. Waste Systems along with the City of Danbury during Saturday's annual Clean City Danbury Day. The event is an annual clean-up program with local citizens and businesses teaming up to help clean streets, neighborhoods, parks and waterways. Winters Bros. will supply free hauling and disposal for waste material collected during the massive community cleanup. Riverkeeper Annual Cleanup Day Offers Several Sleepy Hollow Locations
SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- About 2,000 volunteers will head for their local shorelines on Saturday for the fifth annual Riverkeeper Sweep -- a one-day event made up of more than 100 cleanups and plantings along the Hudson River, including several in Sleepy Hollow and Westchester County.Riverkeeper’s annual event is part of the organization's initiative to reduce plastic and other floatable pollution in the estuary. Rockland Sheriff's Office Looking For Wanted Man
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Rockland County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to be on the lookout for James Smith who is wanted on an active family court warrant. Smith, 32, is described as a black male, 7-feet-tall and weighing 250 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Sloatsburg, Suffern and Stony Point areas. Suez Hydrant Flushing Program Under Way In Bronxville
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Suez' annual fire hydrant maintenance and water main flushing program has begun and will take about four months to complete the project. Stratford Cops Report Increase In Car And Trailer Burglaries
STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford police are warning residents to remember to lock their cars and trailers following a string of recent thefts, according to the Connecticut Post. Police said the area has experienced an increase in thefts of tires and rims from Honda cars and in power equipment from unlocked trailers, said the Connecticut Post.
