Briarcliff Middle School Students Honored By Leukemia, Lymphoma Society BRAIRCLIFF, N.Y. -- Two Briarcliff Middle School students, Jared Boder and Jack Sendek raised more than $7,500 to win the “Student of the Year” title from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Student of the Year competition. Boder and Sendek came in as first runners up in 2015 raising $5,000. Ramapo Police Keep Busy With 106 Calls In One Day RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police were busy on Thursday, April 28, responding to 106 calls. One of the calls included a call for assistance from the Suffern Police Department who requested the used of the Ramapo K-9 unit during a car stop on Orange Avenue in Suffern.  As a result of a search of the stopped car, the driver of the vehicle was arrested and taken into custody by Suffern police. Town Board Reviews New Tree Law, Anti-Littering Efforts YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Town Board held a work session on Tuesday, April 26 to address several issues.Highlights of the meeting include: BOCES water usage: The town is asking BOCES to pay a $25,947 water bill to cover unmetered water usage dating back to the 1980s through 2012 when the missing meters were installed.
