New Canaan Favors Selling Playhouse NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The Town of New Canaan is looking to get out of the movie theater business and is considering selling the Playhouse on Elm Street, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.  First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III said last week that he favored selling the building so the infrastructure costs would not be at the taxpayers' expense, the New Canaan Advertiser said. Additional Dioxane Discovered At Ringwood's Ford Superfund Site RINGWOOD, N.J. -- An engineering report says dioxane, a toxic chemical that has been detected at the Ford Superfund site, has been found again at low levels in a newly drilled monitoring well, according to NorthJersey.com. Testing conduced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said the discovery of 1,4-dioxane at the site -- a former dumping site of industrial waste for Ford Motor Co. -- poses no health threat to the public, even though the chemical has been deemed a probable carcinogen, said NorthJersey.com.
