'God Has Kept Us Safe:' Virginia Church Group Stuck In Israel Books Trip Home Some Virginia residents who have been stuck in Israel amid the ongoing war with Hamas are set to return home. A statement from the office of Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (VA-02) on Thursday, Oct. 12 said that 10 Virginia residents were in Israel. UVA Students Slammed For 'Hateful Message' On Hamas Attacks In Israel "We mourn the loss of human life and hope for long-lasting peace." That's the line in a statement released by UVA student org, Students for Justice in Palestine, on the Hamas attacks in Israel. Florida Motorcyclist Crosses Double Yellow Line, Dies On Group Ride In Virginia: Cops, Friends A 65-year-old Florida man died in a Loudoun County motorcycle crash. Jorge Seminario crossed a double yellow line and was trying to pass multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed when the driver of a van made a left turn into a driveway on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 3:25 p.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. Armed Manassas Mall Macy's Robber Nabbed: Cops A 31-year-old woman has been arrested for slashing a loss prevention officer before stealing items from Macy's in Manassas, police said. Valerie Rene Polovitch, of Manassas, was spotted taking items from shelves and placing them into a bag, then walking toward the exit on Aug. 25, at the Manassas Mall, county police said. Sangram Singh Grewal, 26, of Herndon, shot at the back of three townhomes on the 13000 block of Ashnut Lane in Hattontown, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, county police said. 'Devastated:' Death Of 19-Year-Old Struck By Train Shatters Hearts In Virginia Support is on the rise for a Virginia family mourning the loss of 19-year-old Emilio Maurisio Rivas. The death of Rivas, of Catlet, is being investigated as a suicide, police in Prince William County said, noting he was walking on train tracks near Gardner Manor Place and Hillcrest Farm Lane in Gainesville on Monday, Oct. 9, when he was struck.
