Pomona Man Stopped On PIP Had Cannabis Oil, Police Say POMONA, N.Y. -- A Pomona man was nabbed Saturday on drug charges after he was stopped for a traffic violation, according to the New York State Police. Bryan Mitowski, 23, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana after troopers discovered marijuana and a bottle of concentrated cannabis oil in his vehicle during the stop on the Palisades Parkway. Mitowski was arraigned in the Town of Haverstraw Court and released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.

State Police Investigate Structure Fire In Clinton CLINTON CORNERS, N.Y. -- State police are continuing their investigation into the death of a Clinton Corners man who was found dead inside a burning shed Friday, Jan. 20. Kevin A. McGarry, 56, was found dead inside the shed following the fire at 184 Shadblow Lane around 2:30 p.m., said Melissa McMorris, spokeswoman for the New York State Police. Power Back After Downed Tree Causes Wesley Hills Outage WESLEY HILLS, N.Y. -- The power is back on Tuesday after a large tree branch was knocked down on East Willow Tree Road due to high winds, taking power lines with it, according to Orange and Rockland Utilities.The outage occurred around 10:30 p.m. last night when the tree landed on the power lines, causing a fire, which in turn caused a transformer explosion, said Ramapo police. East Willow Tree Road was closed during the work but has reopened.
