Ramapo Police Ask Public's Help In Search For Wanted Fugitive RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police are asking for the public's help in locating a local man wanted for criminal mischief and harassment. Steven Gabriel, 33, is wanted for an incident that occurred in the Tallman area in June, police said. Gabriel is described as being a black male, 6-foot-1, weighing 200 pounds.  Anyone with information about Gabriel's whereabouts should contact the Ramapo police at 845-357-2400.

Motorist Injured After Striking Tree In Ramapo RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A local man who was speeding, lost control of his vehicle on Crystal Street on Thursday and slammed into a tree, according to the Ramapo Police Department. The unidentified driver suffered a leg injury in the accident that occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the Hillcrest section of Ramapo, police said. The driver, who was treated by Rockland paramedics and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance, was issued two tickets. One for unreasonable speed and the other for having an expired inspection, police said.

On Dec. 24, at 12:45 a.m., Officers Sean Benson and Brian Forde stopped Edward Suydam, 22, of Stormville, for driving his vehicle erratically on Route 52 and determined he was intoxicated.
