Two Face Charges After Police Check On Suspicious Vehicle In Montebello
MONTEBELLO, N.Y. -- Two local men sitting in a dark parking lot in Montebello were collared after a Ramapo police officer, who had stopped to check out the car, smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the Ramapo Police Department.
After a brief investigation, Dimitriy Shatrovskiy, 32 of Congers was charged with possession of marijuana. His passenger, Michael Snyder, 33, of Pomona, had an active warrant out of the village of Spring Valley and was arrested and turned over to that department.
Shatrovskiy is set to appear in court at a later date.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Stuart R. Shamberg, 90, of New Rochelle, the founding partner of the Mount Kisco-based law firm of Shamberg Marwell Hollis Andreycak & Laidlaw, P.C., died Sunday, Jan. 1.
Shamberg was born on April 4, 1926, in New Rochelle, where he grew up as the son of Herbert and Nita Shamberg. Maribel Sanchez Souther, 41, Former Yorktown HS Track Star, Dies Of Cancer
YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Maribel Sanchez Souther, 41, a former Yorktown High School track star, died Dec. 31, after a battle with breast cancer.
Souther was born April 6, 1975, in New York City to Maria and Silvio Sanchez. She attended Yorktown High School where she excelled in academics and cross country/track.
She continued running at Dartmouth College, where she was a standout runner from her first fall helping to rebuild the women’s distance team. She won the 1994 U.S. Junior Cross Country Championship and represented the United States at the Junior World Championships in Hungary. She …

EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Arthur "Artie" Richard George, 68, an area resident since 1997, and longtime East Fishkill emergency responder, died Wednesday at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne.
He previously lived in Carmel, Yonkers, and the Bronx.
Born in the Bronx on Dec. 14, 1948, he was the son of the late Arthur and Winnifred (Kernan) George. George worked as an electrician for Local 3 IBEW in Queens for 30 years until his retirement in 1999.
