Poughkeepsie Woman, Daughter Found With Baby, Child In Hotel With OD Victim
A Poughkeepsie woman and her adult daughter are behind bars after police found them in a hotel room with a three-week-old baby, an 8-year-old girl and a heroin overdose victim, according to the Ulster Police Department.
Julia A. Gary, 55, and her daughter, Kimberly Gary, 23, of Highland, were charged on Wednesday, Dec. 28, with endangering the welfare of a child after a child protective worker visited the hotel to check on the children and found a 24-year-old heroin overdose victim in the room with them, said Lt. Salvatore Brescia, 32, Tow-Truck Driver Killed In I-95 Hit-Run
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- A funeral was held Tuesday for Salvatore R. Brescia, 32, a tow-truck driver from New Rochelle who was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday, Dec. 29, along I-95.
The service, which was held at the Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle, was preceded by a memorial escort of tow truck drivers from across the state.
Brescia, a lifelong New Rochelle resident, was born on Dec.15, 1984, in New Rochelle, to Steven and Adele (Badagliacca) Brescia. In addition to New Rochelle, he had lived in Yonkers and recently moved to Stamford, Conn.

Missing Patterson Teen Found, Safe
PATTERSON, N.Y. -- A teen who has been missing from Patterson since Christmas Eve, has been found safe and in good health in New York City with the assistance of the New York City Police Department’s Missing Person Squad and the FDNY.
Patricia Figueroa, 19, was last seen Saturday, Dec. 24, at the Metro-North train station in Patterson in Putnam County, which runs on the Harlem Line, state police said.
An investigation by the New York State police found she had exited the train at Grand Central Station and was subsequently located, state police said.
