State Police Nab 17 In DWI Crackdown In Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess In an effort to combat intoxicated and impaired drivers throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties, the New York State Police conducted a DWI crackdown from Friday, Oct. 14 through Monday, Oct. 17. Those arrested included: Ljuban Milic, 65, of New Rochelle, for criminal possession of a weapon and DWI. Milic was stopped by police on Route 82 for failing to dim his high beams to on-coming traffic and found to unlawfully possess a .22 caliber handgun. Yorktown Man's Unlicensed Dogs Jump On Children, Police Say YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man who failed to license his dogs will find himself in court in November after the dogs jumped on children, according to the Yorktown police. Matthew Jaros, 46, was charged with two counts of failing to license his animals after police responded to a call that two children had been jumped on by his two dogs on Saw River Mill Road, police said. When police arrived, they discovered that Jaros had not licensed the two animals. He was processed at his home on the two violations and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17.

Man Distracts Bank Teller, Steals $1,850 In Nyack, Police Say NYACK, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who stole $1,850 form the M&T Bank in Nayck. The man walked into the bank on Thursday, Oct. 6, and was able to distract the teller and reach into the cash drawer and steal $1,850 in cash, Orangetown Police said.
