Two Indicted In House Explosion That Killed North Rockland's Michael Fahy
NORTH ROCKLAND, N.Y. -- Two men allegedly involved in the house explosion that killed FDNY Deputy Chief Michael Fahy, who grew up in Rockland and lived in Yonkers, in September have been indicted by a Bronx grand jury.
Garivaldi Castillo, 32, of New York City, and Julio Jose Salcedo Contrer, 34, of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, were indicted for felony first-degree assault, felony second-degree assault and felony criminal possession of marijuana, according to Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark.

State Police Nab 17 In DWI Crackdown In Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess
In an effort to combat intoxicated and impaired drivers throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties, the New York State Police conducted a DWI crackdown from Friday, Oct. 14 through Monday, Oct. 17.
Those arrested included:
Ljuban Milic, 65, of New Rochelle, for criminal possession of a weapon and DWI. Milic was stopped by police on Route 82 for failing to dim his high beams to on-coming traffic and found to unlawfully possess a .22 caliber handgun. He is being held at the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.

Man Attempts To Cash Counterfeit Check In Wappinger, Police Say
WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- A man found himself in jail after trying to cash a forged check at the Bank of America in Wappinger on Friday, Oct. 14, according to the New York State Police.
Floyd A. Harris, 58, of Freeport, was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument after troopers responded to the bank on Route 9 for a fraud complaint, state police said.
An investigation revealed that Harris attempted to cash a $1,600 counterfeit check at the bank using a fake driver’s license under a different name, police said.
