Speed Display Sign Stolen In Cortlandt CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Cortlandt Barracks are investigating the theft of a 12-inch digital speed display sign that was stolen from a utility pole on Kings Ferry Road, just east of Sunset Road in Montrose.  The theft is believed to have taken place between Oct. 7 and Oct. 13, police said. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance to help identify the person responsible for the theft. Red Hook Woman Grabs, Pulls Child, Police Say RED HOOK, N.Y. -- A Red Hook woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday after she was seen grabbing and pulling an 11-year-old, according to New York State police. Dixie E. Castrejon, 26, is accused of forcibly grabbing and pulling an 11-year-old child by the back of his shirt. As a result of her actions, the child hit his back and head on a cement wall, police said. Castrejon was processed on the above charge and released. She is due to appear in court on Nov. 3.

Pedestrian Struck By Car In Croton CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. --  A pedestrian, walking near the dummy light in the Upper Village, was hit by a car at 8 a.m. Friday, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Croton fire, police and EMS along with the Ossining paramedics responded to the area, where they found the victim who had what appeared to be minor injuries. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment, fire officials said. The incident was handled by Car 2084 and Engine 119, with Command holding the other dispatched units in quarters.

Man Charged With Stealing $20,000 From Yorktown Home YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Pawling man was charged with stealing $20,000 from a Yorktown home stemming from a burglary that occurred in July, according to Yorktown Police. Justin Williams, 26, was charged with felony burglary after a warrant was issued for his arrest following an investigation into the incident in which he is accused of entering the home through a window and stealing property worth more than $20,000, police said.
