Homeless Man Found Dead Inside Mount Vernon Camper
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- A homeless man was found dead on Monday inside an abandoned mobile camper at a business on Fulton Avenue, according to Mount Vernon Police Capt. Roy Hasting.
The man, who was known to frequent the camper on and off over the years, is believed to have died from natural causes, Hasting said.
"The owner would have him removed from time to time, this time we were notified of a foul odor coming from the trailer and found him inside deceased," Hasting said.
The man, believed to be between 55 and 60 years old, has not been identified, he added.

Fifteen people, using a music business, "Outta They League," as a front for a drug distribution operation in southern and central New York, were charged Thursday in White Plains federal court for drug trafficking, according to Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Calling themselves OTL, after the music business, the 15 members are accused of distributing multiple kilograms of cocaine throughout southern and central New York, including Poughkeepsie, Bharara said.

Man Driving Huge Tree Truck Erratically Charged With DWI In Blauvelt
BLAUVELT, N.Y. -- A West Nyack man was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence after he was nabbed driving a 52,000 pound truck erratically in Blauvelt, according to Orangetown Police.
Thomas Walker, 51, was arrested after Orangetown Police observed him driving the 52,000 pound tree service truck erratically, swerving on and off the roadway, and forcing other vehicles to drive into oncoming traffic lanes to avoid the truck on Route 303 in Blauvelt around 1:30 p.m, police said.

Dave Sachs, East Ramapo Basketball Coach, Dies
RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The East Ramapo school district and hundreds of students, former students and athletes are mourning the passing on Tuesday of Dave Sachs who spent more than four decades coaching athletics, according to lohud.com.
Sachs, 68, who died after suffering a heart attack, retired from the district in 2013, but had recently returned to serve as the head coach for the Pomona Middle School girls soccer team, said lohud.com.
