Croton-On-Hudson Brings Home Pair Of Parade Awards CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department's volunteers came home with two awards after taking part in the annual Montrose Fire Department's parade. For the second parade in a row, Tower Ladder 44 came home with the "Best Aerial" award, first winning the same prize in Ossining two weeks ago.  The fire house also came home with the "2nd Best Regulation Uniform" award.  The department will be attending the Yorktown Heights FD Parade on June 22, which kicks off their annual carnival. That will be the department's last formal parade for 2016.

North Rockland Students Receive Innovation, Creativity Awards GARNERVILLE, N.Y. -- Charles Freeman and Thea Vijaya Kumar, juniors at North Rockland High School, and members of the Academy of Engineering, recently received the Innovation & Creativity Award from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Both students will receive $7,000 a year totaling $28,000, if they choose to attend R.I.T. following graduation from North Rockland.
