Women Charged With DWI On Route 301 In Carmel, Route 6 In Southeast PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Putnam County deputies have charged a Kent resident and a Danbury resident with driving under the influence, authorities said. The first arrest occurred Wednesday, when Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a woman who had committed traffic violations on Route 301 in Carmel. The deputy determined that the driver, Jessica A. Windels, 43, of Kent was intoxicated, police said.  The deputy arrested Windels and charged her with aggravated driving while intoxicated after she failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests, police said. Stratford Kayakers Rescued From Housatonic River STRATFORD, Conn. -- A father and son out kayaking were rescued from the Housatonic River on June 4 after their boats became flooded, according to the Stratford Star. The pair, who rolled their kayaks and were unable to get them upright again, were rescued from the water by the Stratford Police Marine Unit and a nearby boater, the Stratford Star reported.
