Judge In Danbury Grants Temporary Reprieve To Sherman Fugitive SHERMAN, Conn. -- A Sherman man who was discovered to be an escaped convict after he applied for Social Security benefits, has been given a two-month reprieve by a Superior Court judge in Danbury, according to the News-Times. Robert Stackowitz, who escaped from a Georgia prison camp 50 years ago where he was serving a 17-year-sentence for robbery, is trying to avoid extradition, said the News-Times.
