Judge In Danbury Grants Temporary Reprieve To Sherman Fugitive
SHERMAN, Conn. -- A Sherman man who was discovered to be an escaped convict after he applied for Social Security benefits, has been given a two-month reprieve by a Superior Court judge in Danbury, according to the News-Times.
Robert Stackowitz, who escaped from a Georgia prison camp 50 years ago where he was serving a 17-year-sentence for robbery, is trying to avoid extradition, said the News-Times.

No Injuries Reported During Hatch Field Park Shooting In Stamford
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A shooting by a lone gunmen into a group of men at Hatch Field Park in Stamford on Friday has not turned up any victims, according to the Stamford Advocate.
The man fired seven or eight shots at the group, which was caught on video surveillance, but to date, no one has reported being injured, although there was reports of a bystander being shot, police told the Stamford Advocate.
