Hudson Valley VA Offers Group For Women Veterans Affected By War Trauma MONTROSE, N.Y. -- The Veterans Administration Hudson Valley Health Care System will restart a group for women who have experienced war-zone trauma beginning May 5. The group will meet Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Mental Health Clinic conference room, Bldg. 12, at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Montrose campus, 2094 Albany Post Road.  The meetings are free of charge for those eligible for VA health care. John Docktor, has had an uphill battle since coming down with cancer in 2015. He has exhausted all sick, personal and vacation time that he has accumulated over the years with the department. In the near future Docktor's pay will be cut to 50 percent. His friends are trying to raise at least $10,000 to help with his living and medical costs. To date, $1,215 has been raised. GoFundMe Set Up For Playground Equipment At Fairfield's Veres Park FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Two Fairfield residents have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for a new play structure suited for children 5 and older at Veres Park.  According to Jessica and Josh Goodman, the town already has approved the project if the community can raise the money. They are trying to raise $5,000. To date, $4,600 has been raised. For many, Veres Park has become the local playground where very young children love to play.
