Indian Point 2 Inspections Reveal Problems With Bolts BUCHANAN, N.Y. -- Although scheduled comprehensive inspections found critical components at Unit 2 at the Indian Point nuclear power plant performing safely, issues with hundreds of the more than 2,000 bolts inspected require further work before the plant will be restarted, Entergy Corp. said on Wednesday.Each bolt, about two inches long and made of stainless steel, holds plate inserts together inside the reactor. Three Juveniles Arrested In Shelton Car Burglary Spree SHELTON, Conn. -- Three juveniles are facing a rash of charges in connection with a spree of nighttime vehicles burglaries that took place during the week of March 21 to 25, Shelton police said. Shelton Police Detective Christopher Nugent said the arrests were made with the assistance of the Waterbury Police Department, the Seymour Police Department, the Milford Police Department, and the Orange Police Department, who were able to link the juveniles to numerous car burglaries of unlocked vehicles. Silver Alert Issued For Missing 13-Year-Old Girl From Stratford STRATFORD, Conn. — A Silver Alert has been issued for Alondra Deleon, 13, who was reported missing from Stratford on Monday, March 28, police said. Deleon is considered an endangered runaway, according to police. She is described as a Hispanic female with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket and jeans, police said. Police did not have a photo of her. Plea Deal Offered In Danbury Nanny Child-Abuse Case DANBURY, Conn. -- A nanny who was arrested a year ago on charges of abusing three children in her care has been offered a plea deal and was given six weeks to accept or reject it, according to the News-Times. Lidia Quilligana, 32, who has been held in jail on $1 million bond, has until May 4 to decide on the deal, details of which were not made public, said the News-Times. Redding Board Of Education Budget Lowered To $21 Million REDDING, Conn. -- It's back to the adding machines for the Redding Board of Education following a March 28 vote by the the Board of Finance to demand they come up with a budget $225,000 less than last year, according to the Redding Pilot. The Board of Education will need to make cuts to come in with a budget of $21 million for the 2016-17 school year, according to the Redding Pilot.
